Oh my giddy Cooper, over 6,500 of you turned up at MITP 2007.
That, in my book, is amazing considering the weather, mud, and well generally the summer
of last year. This year we return to Santa Pod on Sunday 19th August, writes Grant Norris
(Show Manager) with all your favourite Mini in the Park activities and a whole host of new
features. Now it’s as plain as the nose on your face that the one thing that unites the Mini
owner is the love of that small temperamental but completely lovable car.
Last year we had clubs travelling from all over Europe to be with like minded folk, to chat,
share stories and generally support their chosen means of transport which brings so much
joy to their lives (even if it breaks down on a regular basis and gives them a sore bum!).

So with that in mind we have lined up a complete day of workshops and seminars that will, among other things teach you how to clean your carburettor, prevent overheating all in our 10 minute tech feature. There will also be tips on how to tune the beast within for maximum reliability, speed and comfort and many other Mini related issues. With our experts at Mini Mag and their very knowledgeable friends you will be given practical advice on all things Mini.
For those of you who would like to test out both your driving skills and your Minis’ performance we will have the Minicross rally stage and the ¼ mile strip in full swing all day.
As usual the trade and autojumble will be the centre of the show so Mini in the Park can be your one stop shop for all your Mini needs.
We know how you all like to get involved and so this year we have
several competitions new and old:
• The concours as usual will be hotly contested.
• The Mini push will again be 1/8 mile up the strip (preferably in fancy dress)
• The quickest times on the rally stage and the 1/4 mile strip will be rewarded handsomely.
• Best Club stand - the theme “Carnival” the best club stand will drive home with the warm
feeling that they are very creative, even if the other cars on the roads think they’re a bunch
of nutters!
Now for those of you who don’t know, you can arrive and camp from 12 noon on Saturday
and with this in mind we have lined up a full itinerary of spectacular interactive entertainment
for the evening!
We have two live bands playing cover songs from the 60s and 70s through to the noughties
and a solo artist with guitar not to be missed. There’s a brand new Mini themed pub quiz for charidee with a prize for the winning Mini geeks (teams 2-6). We intend to party into the small
hours of Sunday, well a little after midnight.
